Team roles and permissions
Invite hosts, owners, cleaners and accountants with the right level of access.

Shortrental has five built-in roles, each with a tailored portal.

You can also create custom roles on the Scale plan.
Invite a team member
- Settings → Team → Invite
- Enter email + pick role
- For Owner role: pick which listings they have access to
- Shortrental sends a signup link
Cleaner portal specifics
Cleaners get a mobile-first interface at clean.shortrental.ai showing:
- Today's and tomorrow's jobs
- QC checklists with photo requirements
- Their earnings per job + weekly total
- Their rating and streak
Cleaners cannot see guest messages, financials, or other cleaners' schedules.
Owner portal specifics
Owners get a read-only dashboard at owner.shortrental.ai showing:
- Their listings' occupancy and revenue
- Monthly statements (downloadable PDF)
- Maintenance log for their properties
- Direct chat with the PM
Owners cannot see cleaner data, other owners' data, or change operational settings.
Permissions best practices
- Don't give Admin to anyone who doesn't need Settings access
- Create a separate Accountant login for your bookkeeper — even if it's you, for audit trail
- Scope Host/PM to specific listing groups if you run multiple brands
- Revoke cleaner access the day they leave (we also auto-revoke smart lock PINs they were granted)
2FA enforcement
On the AI and Scale plans you can require 2FA for all team members. Go to Settings → Security → Require 2FA.
